We’ve just got back from the Eurobike 2018 show, which ran from the 8th – 10th July in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

We found the show to be a bit quieter than usual this year, but can probably in part put this down to Eurobike vetting all ticket applications in order to provide a more targeted audience for its exhibitors. It was also mentioned that with the show this year being earlier than usual, it had meant that some overlooked the event and/or simply not had time to design, manufacture and present upcoming models to ticket holders.

The ongoing anti-dumping legislation was (as it was in Shanghai earlier this year) a hot topic at this year’s show,  Ecargo vehicles were highly prominent throughout the show highlighting their increased popularity on the continent. This year’s show also provided us with a sneaky peek at the newly dubbed Ibike genre which is expected to gain ground within the next couple of years. Ibikes are about bringing technological advances into the Ebike platform, with the goal to create a biking system that is set to give you the ultimate riding experience, from comprehensive app integration to advanced GPS tracking and locking mechanisms. It has given the team here at Pennine Sports lots to think about and our Ebike specialist is working hard to determine what market innovations we can offer.
