Cycling UK has launched its new Cycling Safety:make it simple campaign and has set out six simple policy changes for the Government to implement as an immediate priority as part of its cycling safety review.

Among the steps suggested by Cycling UK to make the roads safer include:

  • Road and street design
  • Changes to the Highway Code
  • Safer vehicles, especially lorries
  • Enforcement
  • Road traffic offences and penalties review
  • Funding

Cycling UK CEO Paul Tuohy states that “Implementing Cycling UK’s proposals would make our streets safer and more attractive for everyone.”
